This place is hip yet down to earth. They micro-brew their own beers. I like their blond bock and Marzen beers. They have a full menu to accompany their cool brews from pizzas, pastas and stir frys to sandwiches and salads. You can either eat at the bar or be served at a table. I love their garlic fries, oh yeah! This is a great place to go after work, have a micro beer, appetizer and talk to friends or even meet new friends.
Fun place! The service and customers are friendly. The appetizers and entrees are tasty, the burgers great and the garlic fries are delicious. This is a great place to go to watch a game or hang out with a group of friends.
The food is pretty good for a chain restaurant. The burger with garlic fries are my favorites. Everybody seems to have fun so it can get loud. This is a good place to go to with a group of friends.
I have been to this restaurant several times for lunch, and though the food was good, the service was abysmal. Each time I went, the restaurant was almost deserted, but we waited for our food for almost an hour, and then waited almost as long for our check. They didn't seem to realize that we were working people and had only an hour for lunch. When we complained, they were unresponsive. I have vowed never to go back.
I usually don't like chain restaurants, no matter their reputation, but Gordon Biersch in Old Town has a couple things going for it. First, the food actually is tasty, creative, and satisfying. Try the deep fried artichoke hearts. Second, it's a great location to people watch. Get a table on the patio, overlooking the alley. Open air film festivals often play in the alley on summer weekend evenings, so you can even watch a film as you dine. Check the Special Events Calendar, and make reservations early.
