I have a god daughter that now lives in Colorado. For the last twenty or so years, every time she comes out to visit we have had lunch at The Hat (it has to be the one in Pasadena, it's a tradition). We order two pastramis, one order of fries, one order of onion rings and drinks (you will not believe how low the prices are). The portions are so large that we always end up bringing home two pastrami halfs, half of the fries and about one third of the onion rings. A few visits ago my god daughter took a pastrami home to her husband. Now if she visits by herself she has to take one home to him and if he comes out here with her he has to stop at The Hat. They both say that they can not get pastramis like these back in Colorado. I am not normally a big pastrami fan, however the ones here are very good. I have had others at various fast food places but they are not in the same class.
This is an easy review. GET THE PASTRAMI SANDWHICH! This is a fast food place, no drive through, small dining room. You come here for a pastrami or burger and fries and soda. Straight and simple. This place is always packed. The Hat does have other things like hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and cold sandwiches but do yourself a favor... Get the PASTRAMI!
