This is one of the better restaurants in the Pasadena area. The service has always been excellent, the restaurant is fairly quiet and the food is of good quality and well prepared. They also have a good wine list. This is a nice place for a romantic evening.
I only ate here once and I probably will never go back. First of all the prices are way too high. Secondly the service was very slow and the help acts like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. The food was pretty good but not worth the price. No dinner is worth what they charge.
A lot of people complain about the cost of dining here. While I would have to admit that the prices are a tad high for the Pasadena area, they are quite low compared to the prices found at many similar types of restaurants in the valley and on the west side. When you dine at Parkway you are not just paying for the food, you are also paying for the atmosphere and the service. In my opinion, while there are a couple of more expensive places in Pasadena, this is the best non steak house dining establishment in the area. I have never been here when the service or food was not excellent and well worth the cost. I have eaten at many restaurants that cost considerably more.
