Very romantic there and the food is delicious, a bit pricey, but worth it. The service is excellant.

My fiance recently took me to dinner here and I thouroughly enjoyed myself. It was very romantic. The cuisine is inspired, the atmosphere is lovely and intimate and the service is gracious. We will be going back.

What's unique about this restaurant? Driving by The Raymond, you would never guess it was a restaurant. It's a cottage style house tucked away just off of Fair Oaks Blvd. The food is wonderful but the prices may be a bit high for many who dine here. I believe in the old axiom, "you get what you pay for". You definitely get what you pay for here in service, quality of food and atmosphere.

The menu and food quality are excellant, but the prices are a tad high. It's quaint romantic atmosphere and attentive service, however, make up for the expense. This is a great place to take a date, or if you are married, to take your wife for a special occasion.

I used to be a fan of this restaurant. Today, this place is an over-rated expensive restaurant. Food wasn't tasty, lamb curry was not tender at all, you can get a better one at Akbar on North Raymound. I highly recommend Cafe Bizou as a substitute for good cuisine.

Friends have raved about it for over 14 years, I kept meaning to go and forgetting about it, but I finally had lunch there yesterday. And what a wonderful dining surprise!
For those who eat split pea soup once in a while just because it's a "good" thing to periodically do something about legumes in the diet: the sherry-laced extravaganza is a world away from what we think of as traditional and so good that I was tempted to lick the bowl (except that this is a slightly more sophisticated environment than many restaurants and I was afraid I'd be heaved out the door with such gauche behavior).
The staff recommended I try their curry ... my spouse begged me not to order it because he can't stand the smell of curry anywhere near him ... but---because we usually order different dishes in order to steal taste treats from the other's plate---I went ahead and ordered it just to spite him after he ordered my alternate brandied apple port chop choice. This is not curry as you've ever had it: the lamb was tender, the very mild curry sauce rich and yummy, my spouse stole bites and loved curry for the first time in his life, and I was only grateful to see rice on the plate so that I could get all that yummy sauce consumed.
We shared a disappointing carrot cake for dessert (I prefer mine much spicier), but the coffee tasted excellent and---quite frankly---nothing could have marred the splendid dining experience we had there. That was yesterday, and we're thinking of going back again today.

Absolutely my favorite restaurant. The craftsman bungalow atmosphere is warm, romantic, simply elegant. Candles, soft lighting, a fire crackling in the fireplace. A cozy, comforting ambience that is in perfect harmony with the simple yet elegant fare. The food is consistently outstanding. Nothing trendy... classic dishes prepared to perfection. The waitstaff is the best in L.A. Attentive, not cloying. No "I'm really an actor" attitude. Pricey, and worth every penny. The place to go for a special occasion, or when you just want to indulge.
