I enjoy this restaurant. It's a bit overpriced for what you get but I feel I'm paying extra for the atmosphere. This is a good place to go to after the movies for some coffee and dessert or a meal. The joint is usually jumpin'.

I love Ruby's. It's a 50's style diner. The decor, fare, music and even the uniforms the servers wear take you back to the 50's. I usually start with a lime Rickey or a cherry coke. The burgers are tasty and the burger buns are fresh. There is a small working jukebox on everyone’s table, songs are a quarter each. Parking can be difficult in Old Town Pasadena but luckily there is a valet parking lot next door to Ruby's.

Fun, clean, quick service and good hamburgers and shakes. You can sit and talk with your friends as long as you want without feeling rushed and all of the people working there are nice and friendly.

Ruby’s a 1940’s inspired diner in the Old Town area of Pasadena. The interior is decked out in chrome, red vinyl, and black and white checked tiles on the floor. There are little miniature juke boxes on each table and tons of memorabilia and old photographs. You immediately feel transported to another era.

The menu consists of American classics like hamburgers, chili cheese fries and fountain treats. I happened to go there for breakfast and had the most amazing Cinnamon Roll French Toast. I typically don’t like to eat sweet breakfast foods but it sounded too good to pass up and I’m glad I didn’t. It was truly delicious and also came with two eggs and a hearty portion of breakfast meat (bacon, sausage, turkey sausage or country ham).

The service was average but you don’t really notice it as much as you might if you were in a less stimulating place. We were so immersed in fiddling with the miniature juke box on our table and looking at all of the photos of movie stars, that we really didn’t notice our server.

I had a good dining experience there and recommend it for the 1940’s atmosphere and down home cooking style menu.

Maybe I went at the wrong time, but I did not like this Rubys. Too loud and neither the food nor the service was that hot. I can get better hamburgers and shakes for less money elsewhere. Maybe I'm just not a 40s type person.
